Food Quality and Safety Services Limited is a private company that was established in March 2013 by a group of professionals with many years’ experience working in responsible and leadership positions in the agriculture sector of the Kenya economy. The company associates with other highly qualified experts to undertake such technical activities that require multi- disciplinary engagement. These include Food technologists, Horticulturalists, Agronomists, Engineers, Environmentalists, Geologist and Architects and entrepreneurs. The company is committed to providing business development solutions to the wider Kenyan Economy.
Our Philosophy
Food Quality and Services Ltd Limited was established to provide technical training and consultancy solutions to businesses in the horticultural and other related industries. In particular reference to Agriculture, it identified the need to enhance capacity of farmers across the country to undertake farming as a business. Towards this end, we seek to support small scale farmers to operate sustain ably and produce safe and marketable food through compliance to Gap and other safety standards. We also engage in improving Value Chain from Farm to Fork (Market) to ensure that farmers minimize losses and maximize returns. Our collective actions will ensure that our country is food secure and economically prosperous. We seek to be actors in the Vision 2030 dream.
Our Business
Our main business is the provision of training and business development consultancy services to Agriculture, Manufacturing, Agribusiness and other sectors.
How we Work
1. We enter into contracts with our clients based on an mutually agreed accepted Terms of Reference and defined scope of work for audits and consultancy assignments.
2. We offer rationally priced tailor made Technical Training packages and Capacity building activities in collaboration with the client to complement the overall marketing strategy.
3. We listen to questions and challenges as told by the customers in relation to effective application of company products and then design effective training interventions where necessary. We believe that complementary information provided alongside the physical product enhances the farmers’ capacity to effectively utilize purchased technologies for profitability.
4. We answer technical questions in relation to specific products asked by customers on behalf of the company and offer solutions within the company’s product range.
5. We present general training packages and information that add value to the enterprise upon which the product or technology is intended. That is going beyond the physical product.
6. This technical backstopping provided by the enhanced awareness goes beyond meeting customer Expectations but actually surpasses it; it builds loyalty and consistent win-win linkages between the farmer and the Companies. This in turn, creates a profitable relationship for both parties.
